It has come time to wrap up my 20% project but before I do, I'd like to share my final thoughts on the project. For the past couple weeks, I have been trying my best to watch how much I eat, drink 64 oz of water a day, make healthier snack choices, buy foods without dangerous preservatives, and eat healthy foods that give me energy! It hasn't been easy! I've had to eliminate a lot of food that was in my diet, turn down getting ice cream with a friend for smoothies instead, and remember to track each food I eat from each food group. Although it hasn't been easy its been worth it! I feel better about my body, feel well nourished, have more energy, and feel refreshed! Even though my time with this 20% project will be over for this class, I know its not the end for me. I am going to continue with my new eating habits. I'm also going to continue to find nutrition ideas off of Pinterest. Next I'd like to search for healthy meals to make for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and fitness ideas. I am making this my goal for the summer. I'll be pinning the ideas I find to my Nutrition board on Pinterest. In addition to helping me change my eating lifestyle, this project has taught me several ways to store and cultivate information. I can also cultivate ideas using the websites Pinterest, Storify, ScoopIt, and Diigo. Although I choose to use Pinterest to cultivate nutrition ideas for this project, I know I will use all of these websites as teacher to collect teaching ideas and allow my student to use these sites for projects. Lastly, this project has showed me the importance of taking the time to learn a new skill of personal interest. This project forced me to set aside time to learn more about a topic I've always been interested in learning more about and in return I feel accomplished. I would love to give my own students the opportunity to do this too.
