When I come home from a day of teaching, I always find myself hungry but its too early to make dinner so I decide to eat a snack. For snack, I usually like to have chips or crackers but I know these are not the healthiest snack choices. Therefore this week, I set out to research healthy snacks that would be good alternatives to chips and crackers. To find out this information I researched healthy snacks on pinterest. I came across tons of healthy snack ideas. I pinned these ideas to my pinterest board "Nutrition".
Next I went to Trader Joes and bought some of the healthy snacks I had learned about from Pinterest. Everyday this week I have had a different healthy snack. On Sunday I had raw almonds and cashews, on Monday I had string cheese, on Tuesday I had air- popped popcorn, on Wednesday I had apple slices and peanut butter, and today I had hummus and reduced guilt pita chips.
I must say although these snacks were not quite as tasty as the chips and crackers I normally eat, they came pretty close and I didn't feel guilty after eating like I normally do after snacking on chips or crackers. These are going to be my new "go to" snacks.
